Carrying on from yesterday......
I ate my sandwich - brought from home - while watching the showjumping but was still peckish so had a good look around the Food Hall, lots of samples of cheeses and sausages and a teeny bit of venison after which I needed a drink so another free cuppa in the C of E Local Diocese tent.
I walked through the flower show tent, some gorgeous stands from the local area. Not quite up to Chelsea Flower show standard!
Mickfield Hostas are a local to me company and had a huge selection - made me want to start a collection again like I had at the smallholding years ago. But very expensive to buy from them compared to £3 that I bought one for from the fruit and veg shop in Leiston.
I looked in the bees and honey tent but ran out of energy to walk all round the wildlife area organised by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. This area of ponds, trees and wildflowers was established many years ago and is a permanent feature of the showground and cared for by the Trust.
Then the WI tent and the competitions. Did either of the WI's I belong to win a prize?
This is an entry by Anna from Small WI - a cot quilt - beautiful and coming second I think but only the first gets a prize.
And Small WI's entry........ beaten by HALF A POINT! 58/60
This is the winner 58½/60
finally, close to the exit gate on my way out...........I quite fancy one of these to put at
the bottom of the meadow. Didn't bother to pick up a leaflet.....as they
are about £14,000 fully fitted!
One more short Suffolk Show post tomorrow ...........
