.................................. the Last Night of the Proms has been and gone........that was last Saturday
..................................when cobwebs sparkle with morning dew, one day last week
....................when the chimney sweep comes to sort the chimney ready for winter, that was yesterday.
The weather forecast says it might be warmer over the weekend but it feels like Autumn to me and time I found a new photo for the header.
Back Tomorrow
Sue
Summer is over to us,when I put the canvas garden furniture back in the garage for the winter.Although, wrapped up warm,I still like to sit outside reading when it gets cooler. But I just use the wooden seats then. Its cold this morning in Leicester!,xx
ReplyDeleteI agree with Debi. We took down the parasol over the table to store. In rural Worcestershire summer is over when you see mounds of apples being given away at the ends of drives. Super abundance!
ReplyDeleteA perfect dewy cobweb. I showed this to my 7 year old grandson. He was impressed.
ReplyDeleteOn the farm Michaelmas always marked the end of Summer. So I am stuck in that and for me it always will.
ReplyDeleteIt does feel autumnal, despite the sun and the warmth. The mornings and evenings are chilly and the leaves are changing.

Leaves have started dropping here, the mornings and evenings are cooler, yep the new season is with us.
ReplyDeleteLike Debi I am getting my son to put the chairs away, I will just use wooded chairs. It's a lovely day here and have a line of washing drying. Since I have moved I use a line and not the rotary one. Going to to a little bit of gardening. I like your new header.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend Sue.

It is sad to see the summer slipping away, I am trying to make the most of being in the garden before the cold weather sets in.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful shot of the spider webs! Our nights have gotten very chilly here in Nova Scotia. It's like someone flipped a switch from summer to autumn, it happened so quickly.
ReplyDeleteWhile our temps and humidity have been too high to experience any of autumn's coolness yet, signs are around. A spider managed to spread a huge web right across the back kitchen door overnight, so that when my husband let the dog out early yesterday morning he inadvertently (still dark) walked into the web. Like you, I have been trying to reach our chimney sweep of 25 years for several days, but his telephone is evidently not working properly, so haven't been able to schedule that yet. Hoping he is okay.
ReplyDeleteWe had snow yesterday, so I have to believe it now brrr. Love the shot of the spider webs!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant photo of the spider webs. Mark was out today so I popped the heating on. I'm a sneaky old thing :) xx
ReplyDeleteThe spiders web was impressive. Autumn is definitely here on the Isle of Lewis, the winds are blowing a gale.
ReplyDeleteLove the spider's web! Summer is over... when you have to turn on the heat lol. Not yet. It's warming up again here - back to rollercoaster weather for a while. Summer is over when I have to remember to start heating up the car before I go out!
ReplyDeleteYesterday morning it was so chilly that i could almost smell the first frost on it's way. Today it is 3 coats warmer.
ReplyDeleteIt feels like Late Autumn to me Sue. I have just taken Tess for a short utility walk and I have come back frozen.
ReplyDeleteSuch a magnificent photo of the web!
ReplyDeleteIt's getting dark by 8 PM here, which makes me think of Autumn. Besides that leaves are turning red and brown. Nevertheless temperatures are great, about 18 C tomorrow and within a few days back to 25.
Beautiful picture. I love Autumn. We know the summer is over here when they drain the water out of the paddling pool in the Town park!
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is beautiful! It's hot, sunny and beachy here, high surf advisory is cancelled....
ReplyDeletelizzy at gone to the beach...

It has been so cold and wet here today that we have had the heating on.
ReplyDeleteI don't like spiders but their webs are quite magical aren't they?
Hugs-x-
It was 20C when I got to work this morning, to teach my Friday class. When I walked out to the car park afterwards, it was 35C. It's 24C now near the beach. This may be our last gasp of summer, one can only hope. I want the cloudy and overcast days that don't clear till late afternoon and temperate weather.
ReplyDeleteYes, summer is over with the Last Night ... it starts with the Queen's birthday parade in June (Trooping the Colour) and ends with the Last Night of the Proms (well, for me it does!) Who needs actual dates when these book-end summer? Oh, I can't wait for spring. I know so many love autumn, and it is pretty, but it heralds winter and I detest the dark mornings and dark evenings and when it hardly gets light all day, but today and yesterday have been filled with sunshine, Sue, so long may this continue!
