Back to the Car-Boot Sale

A sunny Sunday morning after the wet one the week before so off to the boot sale early - although not as early as planned as 5 minutes after 6am it was suddenly 7.15..........not sure how that happened?

More sellers and buyers than any other Sunday this year and a mixture of finds for me and the grandchildren.

The Beatrix Potter book ends are just right for the set of her books that I collected a few years ago. A jute shopping bag as they are always handy and the mug is a replacement for one that had to be chucked last month. A game and activity book to pop in the cupboard for grandchildren and that little book "Chimneys, Gables and Gargoyles; A Guide to Britain's rooftops" just because I was curious.

Total spend £5

Back Tomorrow

  1. You always bag brilliant bargains Sue. I was amused at our Village Yard Sale to see a woman trying to sell some children's games for £5 which had been £3.99 in lidl! Orchard Toys are brilliant, based in Norfolk - and helpful with list instructions, missing pieces etc. That's always useful with Boot Fair Buys (website is https://www.orchardtoys.com, do check them out)

    1. The prices people want at the boot sale have shot up - I think because it's the only one happening so people reckon they can ask more. I picked up a couple of things and put them down again because the sellers wanted too much! I'm still thrifty!

  2. I would say the bookends are probably worth a fiver on their own, any day.

    1. I was slightly reluctant at £1.50 - but they are perfect for the her books which were previously being propped up with red plastic bookends.

  3. The ‘rooftop’ book looks interesting......maybe you could use so of the ‘tit bits’ in a future post

    1. It's mainly photos and annoyingly doesn't say where the photos were taken! But a few bits are interesting

  4. A good haul. Keith was wanting to go to the big car boot sale at Carew last Sunday but I wasn't happy to be mixing with such large numbers of people (and lots of holiday makers from Midlands have caravans in the area) and no point in looking for stock as we're not selling - we'd just be tieing money up.

    1. Luckily they've spread the cars out so much at this boot sale that it doesn't feel crowded.
I go for the Sunday morning walk! as well as the possibility of treasure.

  7. Such a nice haul of things. Yard sales are prevalent here but no need for more stuff right now.

  8. Very nice haul Sue, Seasalt shopping bags are quite expensive. I’m looking forward to the car boot sale at our village hall this coming weekend, only ever a small one but you never know just what you can find, I got my Christmas outfit at the last one for all of £2 but then realised there would be no walking club lunch out this year!

  12. Those bookends are lovely and are worth more than your total spend on their own.
