To the Car-Boot Sale.......As Usual

What a beautiful sunny Sunday for a good walk early in the morning.

I found a few useful things amongst all the junk

The Weird Bugs book (50p)is ready for Jacob's next visit - it's a pop up moving parts book that I reckon he will like. There's a pack of 4 Princess/Fairy sticker books(50p) for the two Granddaughters. My War Diary(50p) is actually a childrens book - which I should have realised but I'll have a look. RHS Plants and Flowers (£1) so I can sort out the things in the garden that I don't recognise. There's a gift set of re-usable bag and mug which will be a Christmas present (£2.50) A pack of 10 charity Christmas cards (20p) and the small microwave steamer (£2) is something I've thought about buying for a while - it will save me using cling film when I do frozen peas etc in the microwave.

Back Tomorrow

  2. Some lovely bits from the car boot and the children will be pleased, i have the RHS book very useful. I have stopped using cling film in the microwave and use a covered Pyrex dish.

  3. The RHS book is an absolute bargain. Mine was a gift years ago and I know cost over £30 in the late 80's.

  4. I had that RHS book (from my mum) but gave it to a charity shop in the latest clearout before we moved. A bargain. Bet the steamer is useful too. I don't use clingfilm in the m/wave, but put a plate over instead.

    A good haul!

  5. Good buys! I was given that RHS book as a (then) expensive present years ago. Now, you can hardly give them away! A bargain for you as it is good.
I also use covered Pyrex in the microwave. No problem as long as you only use a tiny amount of water.

  6. The steamer is excellent, I use it most days. I boil potatoes in around eight - twelve minutes, depending on how many I'm cooking for. Only need a tablespoon or two of boiling water. Basket means no trouble pouring off the water.

  11. Good items you found. I'm retired and need to buy less than I have been lately. Thankfully my husband still works and our mortgage is paid off.

  14. I shall be interested to know how you get on with the steamer. I find that now I have an induction hob that it is so fast I hardly use my microwave!
