The school Autumn term starts around here today and it's all change for the family
Youngest Granddaughter starts in Reception class at a village school and her brother - Middle Grandson - is off to Pre-school for 4 days a week while their Mum - my Daughter-in-Law -begins a new job as a classroom assistant in another village school.
Eldest Granddaughter moves into Year 1 in a big town school and her Mum -my Youngest Daughter - will start job hunting having being made redundant from her job at the Opticians, after 16 years, just before the school holidays.
Meanwhile down in Surrey, Eldest Grandson moves up into Year 2 at his big village school and his little brother starts at a childminders for a few days a week while their Mum, my Eldest Daughter, has a new job working as a P.A for the boss of Gardening and Landscaping business.
(Thank goodness my Archaeologist son is still being an Archaeologist and Son-in-Law is still at his job in Business Development.)
I hope the new term goes well for all of them.
Back Soon
Sue
Similar story here, I now have term dates for 4 academic establishments in my diary, just hope I get right child to right school. I love the hols but it is good to be back in routine, both my girls are primary teachers so our lives are ruled by school terms. Hope all your enjoy their new classes and your daughter finds a job that suits. Soon be half term! Sarah Browne.
ReplyDeleteSo many changes and new starts all at once. Thank goodness I'm still the same!
DeleteGosh it all sounds so complicated, hopefully they will all get into their new routines quickly. Don't the little ones grow up so quickly. Hope you get lots of photos of their first day in new uniforms.
ReplyDeleteThey always look so smart on their first day - but that soon wears off
DeleteI think the new term will define many of our diaries over the coming months.
ReplyDeleteAll change everywhere it seems
DeleteAll the best to them and may all those new experiences be good and encouraging for them all. That's a lot of changes all at the same time. xx
ReplyDeleteThey seem to look forward to school nowadays thank goodness
DeleteLiving on the edge of one of the most-visited National Parks in the country, school holiday dates define things here too 😆
ReplyDeleteHope it will be nice and quiet for you for a few weeks until half term
DeleteThey grow up so quick, childhood these days is short and fleeting.
ReplyDeleteThe days went so slowly when I was at school!
DeleteWhat an exciting time. Mixed feelings of progress and time slipping by.
ReplyDeleteSo many changes and new starts
DeleteMy granddaughter, after a few twirls round my mirror has also left for an induction day at her college. My two pence worth, her outfit, sexy but sober.
ReplyDeleteSexy but sober sounds good........I think!
DeleteSimilar thing here. Changes for all four of them, although my daughter's change was a few weeks ago and her partner's change will be in three months time. Youngest GD started in Year 1 last Friday and eldest GD will start at her new school on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteSo many changes all at once - I can't keep up
DeleteBig change for eldest daughter methinks.
ReplyDeleteThe textile design business is flat and she'd sold nothing lately so started helping a friend's landscaping business with his website design and social media stuff and ended up organising his business!
DeleteIt is all change! I wish them all well, especially your youngest daughter in her job search.
ReplyDeleteIt's not going to be easy for her finding a job. Luckily she is doing some hours at a pub which helps. But after school child care is expensive so needs a job with school hours - very difficult
DeleteThat is a lot to keep up with! Sending all good wishes for the big changes.
ReplyDeleteThank you - lots of hard work ahead
DeleteToday is a holiday here - Labor Day, but school starts in earnest Tuesday. Granddaughter #3 in Buffalo, NY starts kindergarten after being in preschool/day care since babyhood. Her sister, 7 mo, will continue at the day care. 8 year old granddaughter #1 who lives here in NH will get to go to 3rd grade. She missed first three days of school because of Covid. Her sister in 1st grade had 2 days before getting sick too so won't return to school until Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteHope your daughter is successful with her job search.
Youngest daughter is the one I worry about most and finding a suitable job will be really difficult
DeleteBig changes for all. Don't they seem to grow up quickly now, or is it just that I am so very old!!! Wishing them all an enjoyable time at school. I loved infants and junior school, high school, not so much. I hope your daughter enjoys her new job and that the younger one soon finds a replacement.
ReplyDeleteIt's strange to have so many new starts all at once.
DeleteI don't remember much about primary school at all. I think I was a child that just went along with whatever was happening.
It seems most children are happy to go back to school. I wonder if learning online at home made them happy to return to in-classroom teaching? Also, being with their friends at school must be good for everybody. Our schools opened a week ago. In the US, employers are having trouble finding people to fill jobs. I'm told, it is a job seekers market with employers paying a premium plus bonus to secure an employee. First day of school is a big day with all your grandchildren starting another school year.
ReplyDeleteThey seem to enjoy their schools and having friends to play with - long may it last
DeleteMy great grand daughter has just started school and seems to be settling in well.
ReplyDeleteGood news
DeleteGood luck to everyone on their first days at school. Hope your daughter finds something suitable very soon.Catriona
ReplyDeleteMe too, it's a worry finding work where she lives
DeleteWishing them all the best for their next adventures!
ReplyDeleteThank You Ellen
DeleteStudents in my province started back on Thursday, and had a long weekend after 2 days of classes.
ReplyDeleteI hope your grandchildren have a wonderful start to the school term.
God bless.
Hope all the children have a good first day in school! Do they take photos and share them with you? We all used to be excited here for the first day of school and would take a first day photo.
