I had some lovely cards for my birthday - thank you everyone - from as far as Canada, the west in Republic of Ireland, from a windy Scottish island, Norfolk, Essex and Suffolk of course.
And some useful cards found at a boot sale this month - just 20p each.
Didn't bother with an advent calendar last year as I decided to buy something else - probably a book - instead but this huge one was 50p at the same boot sale as the cards so hasn't broken the bank.
Have to find somewhere to keep it safe for 8 months - it really is a biggie!
Back Tomorrow
Sue
That is a bargain at 50p. It is quite pretty too. Only 8 months to go?? Oh dear.
ReplyDeleteI might have paid £1 but no more. Yes we need summer first
DeleteWhat a lovely picture on the Advent calendar. Perhaps hang it on the wall and enjoy it for the next 8 months.
ReplyDeleteIt's tucked away for now
DeleteI like the calendar - what a bargain.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was
DeleteBelated Happy Birthday to you, Sue.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very pretty calendar xx
Thank you - another year nearer to 70!
DeleteThe year seems to be going by so fast. Hope you find a good spot for your calendar - somewhere where you will remember to find it!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture on the Advent calendar, you could have it on your Winter mantlepiece display even before December. What a brilliant buy at just 50p. I need to go to some car boot sales this year, it's been an age since I've managed it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very nice calendar x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
I snapped it up - can't go wrong at 50p!
DeleteWe buy our Christmas cards and wrapping paper in January when it's very cheap and they want the shelf space.
ReplyDeleteI buy even cheaper at boot sales!
DeleteI always check the card racks at the resale shops now - thanks to you!
ReplyDeleteI need to look for some cards for men and grandsons now
DeleteWishing you a belated happy B-day. I hope you had a nice day filled with love and good times.
ReplyDeleteChildren, grandchildren and me celebrated on Saturday but birthday was Sunday - a good weekend
DeleteHappy days after your birthday 🎂. I decided to make a card first a friend's wedding last week with photo that goes into a card. I'd been going through pictures lately and found a few that had cupcakes 🧁 at a friend's wedding a few years ago at the reception. I need to continue to do that for various celebrate days. Weather is still chilly here. Late week to be warmer and hope it stays that way for awhile.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I used to make cards but have gone right off crafting
DeleteBelated Happy Birthday Sue,
ReplyDeleteThat advent calendar reminds me a bit of the cottage in The Snowman - one of my Christmas favourites. I spent a fortune on a really bad quality VHS tape of the snowman a few years after it came out.
You can catch up with the Snowman on TV every year!
DeleteAn advert calendar with no chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI'm right off chocolate!
DeleteHappy birthday, though I'm a bit late to the party!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I never mention my birthday until days later!
DeleteHappy birthday for Sunday Sue. Glad you had a good one 🙂
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. I am glad that you had a Happy one. Love the size of that Advent calendar.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Happy Birthday! Nice cards.
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a lovely birthday. xx
ReplyDeleteBelated Birthday Greetings Sue! x
