December 30th and The Walk Down The Lane Again or Maybe Not

What you should see here is my December post with photos of the lane.................except the weather has been awful, so I haven't done it!

We had to go to Addenbrookes again yesterday.... second time in 3 days, this time for blood tests and to see one of the Post-Transplant team. Once again I drove there in pouring rain, parked in the multi-storey car park, pushed Col in a wheelchair round the hospital and sat about and waited for an hour and a half. Drove back in pouring rain stopping for shopping and diesel on the way.

When we got home the wind was howling round the house and still raining so instead of walking down the lane taking photos I unloaded the car and then lit the wood burner. It was so windy the garage door wouldn't stay open - had to prop it up with a bit of wood to get the car away.

Didn't venture out again.

Instead of photos of the wet soggy trees in the wet soggy lane here's how the jigsaw puzzle is looking

after about 12  days, just the sky left to do - as always.

Just added the last "Book Read" to my list - 112 read this year! The list is on the separate page under the header photo.

Back Tomorrow

  2. Lovely jigsaw. I have two lovely puzzles to do here but had no time over Christmas. I will get my OH to find me a piece of hardboard to do it on so I can put it away when I need to use the kitchen table.

I hope you don't have to go to Addenbrookes for a few days now. Keep warm.

  4. Glad to know you got to Addenbrookes and back safely. I am making slow progress with my jigsaw as I am coughing so much and have no concentration. Snow is melting fast and we’re going to experience storm Dylan tomorrow night. Catriona

  5. Hospital runs this time of year are the worst. Hopefully we will have a quiet spell of weather soon. I have a hospital appt next Sunday! They are working Sundays now because of traffic problems and lack of parking. Great puzzle progress. Much better than in our house.

  6. The jigsaw has come on well. I saw the 500 piece version of this in a charity shop just before Christmas but they wanted £2.50 for it. I declined. I think they must have hiked up the prices of jigsaws because it was Christmas. Sometimes I do the sky first to get it out of the way. Glad you got the journey to and back safely.

  7. Although we haven't had the snow we have had the rain and winds. You're doing sterling job chauffeuring Col to the hospital etc. Weather much better today.

  9. A lot of rain! Thankfully it's not snow. I've had enough of that. I hate driving in it and hate the worry that comes when my kids are making long trips in it. I'm looking forward to checking out your read list. That's quite a lot of books!

  10. The weather here was beautiful in the morning heavy snowflakes and a white world but as the temperature rose a little it turned into icy slush on the pavements and very cold rain. We went out to see the Living Advent at Saltaire Village and it was a struggle to keep warm and take photos.
You must be exhausted with the hospital visits but hope everything going to plan with Colin's recovery. Just keep warm and keep reading and doing jigsaws.
    Here's to a happy and healthy 2018.

  12. We had rain and wind this week. I drove home in some of it. Today there's sunshine and clouds. I finally got to walk with Phil just a bit ago. Needed to walk off a few pounds I've gained. Glad your trip was safe in spite of the weather. Prayers that Col will improve in many ways in the new year. Stay warm!
