Added For Easter and Easter Crosses

I've added a few extras to the seasonal display on the bookshelves.

Just for my benefit, unless I get any unexpected visitors.

Stowmarket Church has a Festival of Crosses for Easter, so I popped in to have a look. Lots of groups and organisations taking part.

A different idea to encourage people into the church at Easter.

  1. I've not come across a cross festival before. (that looks odd now I've typed it!) But a very creative idea. Have a joyful and blessed Easter tide!

  2. How lovely. They are all beautiful in their way but I do love the hands one particularly.
Happy Maundy Thursday to you. xx

  3. Your Easter display looks lovely. A lot of effort has gone into some of those crosses, some are really lovely. I must admit I rather like the bold and chunky one with the blue sky, sunshine, and lambs.

  4. Lovely display and it looks like it involved all ages which is good. I like your own display too. Catriona

  6. I’m afraid we are dreadful heathens and Easter generally passes by fairly unremarked.

  7. Happy Easter. I do like the festivals and community gatherings that you post about. They seem very much enjoyed. Our churches will have an Easter service that includes the traditional sermon. Some churches offer an Easter egg hunt for little children which is nice but does not draw in many. Our churches do not seem to focus on building community like your churches do.

  9. Now that's odd! Goes along with people wishing each other Happy Good Friday, I guess.

  10. What a lovely idea. I especially liked the chocolate wrapper cross. There has been a world wide competition called A Cross for Peace, displayed in Hereford city and the cathedral, which has resulted in the many many crosses from around the world being exhibited. Some were very thought provoking.
