When you live in a village where nothing much happens, anything is interesting!
So seeing dozens of runners passing by on Sunday was kind of exciting - in a "phew, glad I'm not doing that" way.
Had to look up the who's and why's and found it was a half marathon running race over a new route, organised by a local running club and according to their running vests there were people running from lots of different Suffolk clubs.
Lots of over 50's running as well as younger and the weather was awful. Not my choice of spending a Sunday. But what was worrying that two blue light ambulances also went by! might have had nothing to do with the runners but I hope everyone was OK.
Back Tomorrow

I admire their enthusiasm, but on a wet Sunday I am more than happy to stay indoors with a good book or film, and lots of coffee 🙂
ReplyDeleteI should add we are now all waiting with bated breath for a post entitled 'Blogging Pet Hates' as mentioned on Chris' blog the other day. :-)
Deleterunning is addictive - so they say - but I won't be finding out!
DeleteI deleted that post without publishing - can't remember now what I was moaning about!
They will enjoy their hot baths after that.
ReplyDeleteYes I guess so - some had a long way to travel to get home first
Delete330 runners took part. It was heralded a great success and there were no reports of ambulance calls.
ReplyDeleteThe marshals said 150 runners - I didn't count!
DeleteRunning with lots of others is not as pleasant as running alone, or so I'm reliably informed;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not planning to find out either!
DeleteI think ambulance attendance is par for the course, so to speak, when there's a race in the country where help would take a while. Sounds as if it wasn't needed this time.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter runs marathons and seems to love it. I cheer her on, and think I couldn't do that!
Well done to your granddaughter - doesn't appeal to me at all
DeleteRather them than me. I don't like running in the rain. X
ReplyDeleteI suppose it was better than very hot weather but I couldn't run in any weather!
DeleteI am told running is addictive and runners insist on running daily. When they do not run, they do not feel optimal. I choose to walk or hike in woodland settings. Running on roads in the rain does not seem appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteSomething to do with adrenalin I think - I'll do without
DeleteNever really been a runner - would rather walk!
ReplyDeleteI don't like running. I don't see how people find it fun. I like walking. More my speed. The only thing about those type of runs that go on the roads is that it blocks everything up. Rather annoying if you don't read about it and get surprised!
ReplyDeleteAll I know is that if I'm running, you better run too because there's definitely something chasing me.
ReplyDeleteNot my thing either but people who do run seem to get a lot of enjoyment from it.
ReplyDelete(and ditto for the Pet Hates post) xx
