Went to a the first Cafe Church yesterday at the Methodist Chapel where Colin's Dad was a lay preacher for many many years before he died. Col's sister goes to services quite often so I said I go and see what a Cafe Church was like. We did some crafting and drunk coffee, not sure what the older members of the church thought. Then Col's brother cooked a roast dinner for the three of us.
Home again to prepare for arrival of Jacob......
Once he arrived no jobs got done!
Ran out of time to do a post!
Sue.
Merry Christmas

It's a busy time for all of us. Enjoy your family and have warm and peaceful Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of cafe church but we do have messy church for the littlies. I was part of the scratch choir for our nine lessons and carols service last night. Very traditional and packed out too.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Christmas and I look forward to reading your blog in 2019
I've not heard of a Cafe Church before (I doubt we have them in Wales, and definitely no Cafe Chapels, oh no no no - a bit tight-laced they are!) I like the idea of crafting though.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Christmas with your family - the wee ones will make it lively, that's for sure!
Seasons greetings, sue and a happy and healthy new year. Xx

ReplyDeleteI went to a cafe church service at a friend's church recently; people sat around tables chatting, minister did a short talk, and then we had a buffet lunch. Was 'different' but friendly and quite good fun! Happy Christmas!!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the roast nuts recipe. I was plucking up my courage to ask if you'd share the recipe.
I've not been to cafe church but it sounds a good idea.
Our church does a children's version, Messy Church, which is very popular and is intended to be for the whole family rounding off with a shared, cooked meal.
Enjoy your little ones. Sue

Not surprised you had no time to blog, it's a busy day for everyone. Hubby is giving the bathroom a quick once over and making up spare beds before visitors arrive, and I've been stuck in the kitchen all day prepping veg and making desserts for tomorrow. Hope you manage to enjoy Christmas Sue, having little ones around will help I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you this Christmas Sue x
