I Must Stop Finding Nice Greetings Cards + The Job List.

I'm sure there are now more than enough cards in the card box for this years birthdays. But when I spot someone is selling nice greetings cards for pence it's difficult to resist looking through what they have.

These were the most recent find - all from one person who originally, when I asked "How Much", said "they might be £1 each....... depending! "  I said if they were going to be £1 each I would be putting them back! So he sold me all 5 for £1 instead - very odd.

The owl one unfolds to make a 3D card and has a £3.95 label on the back - bargain.

At the same boot sale I got a couple of things for Middle Grandson as I'm going to be looking after him on Mondays now and again during the rest of the school term.

I think he probably has something similar already as he is the most fanatical and knowledgeable 3 year old dinosaur fan I have ever known, but they will be new for here. £2.50 for these 2 things.

There were several garden jobs that needed doing this week, - at the beginning of the week I wrote a list to spur me on

Raise the net frame that's over the beetroot
Take the net frame off the early leeks
Sow more beetroot seeds
Prick out  the second lot of leek plants
Plant out squash plants
Sow the sweetcorn
Plant out the Climbing French bean plants
Cut back the perennial geranium over hanging the front path
Give a really good watering to all the new things I've planted in the last month
Weeding
Weeding the patio
and more weeding

Lots got done..........except the weeding!

I keep hearing about the lovely weather in the west of the country - here in the east we've had sun but lots of cloud rolling in from the north and bringing with it a chilly north and north east wind. It's so Not Fair!....stamps feet!

Back Tomorrow

  1. It was a bit dull and chilly yesterday, wasn't it? Fingers crossed today is nicer.
I bet your garden looks a picture. xx

  2. Your Mr Three might enjoy a game of 'Which one?' - if you put all the dinosaurs in a bag (fabric or paper) and he has to feel for the one you point to. Then he places it in the correct position on the base of the puzzle. My little guy loved this game. They are such a joy - but they do take a lot of entertaining!

    1. It's the chilly wind that's annoying me every day!

  4. Those cards were bargains. Too good an offer to pass up.
I recently needed to find a birthday card for my great-neohew, turning 5 and with a love of dinosaurs. An impossible search it seems. I shall have to resort to making my own.

  5. The cards were a bargain - well done, but what an odd reaction from the seller.

    1. No way was I going to pay £1 each - don't think he was a regular car-booter

  6. Nooo, don't stop finding them, even if you end up five years ahead of yourself you will be saving so much money. It's been beautifully sunny and warm here all week and then on the day we are going away it's cloudy and cool ... typical !!

    1. Don't think I have room to get cards for 5 years ahead! but at 20p each there's no point in not buying

  7. I'd gladly swop you a few of our bright sunny days for a cloudy one but my husband would object.

  8. It isn't easy to pass over pretty greetings cards, especially when they're at that bargain price.

    1. Might as well get them as long as I have room to keep them

  9. Cards are such a magnet. And you can insert your own pages to make notebooks, which a lot of people use and like as a little unexpected present.

    1. Buying some at a bargain is good as then I can afford some of the art ones from art exhibitions

  10. I agree with Boud - cards, especially at bargain prices are irresistible.

  11. Please can I stamp my feet as well, its 15C on the essex coast. I have taken to reading my book in the greenhouse with the door shut. It would be lovely to take off my jumper

  12. For a change we've been having sunny dry weather and even warmer than Suffolk, here in S Wales.. and long may it last. We'll have been here 2 years on 6th June so you must be near to that too?

  13. Like you, I buy cards when I see something I like. My card supply is held in 3 shoe boxes that sit in the bottom drawer of a desk. I suspect, both you and I have cards for every occasion. Your grandson will have a nice surprise when he sees his new dinosaur collection. Completing all those garden chores is a job very well done. I will mow the lawns today and plant my new apple tree.

  14. I liked your to-do list and thought it could almost be arranged so it's shaped like an egg timer - a sort of poetic reminder or what's required and of time's passing. I bought some hand made cards the other week - rare for me, but they seemed so beautiful and worthy of support

  15. It is clouding up here once again. We do need some more rain so that is quite alright. However the hail can stay far away.

Love those cards and our youngest son would have loved the dinosaur puzzle.

    God bless.

  18. I’m a sucker for really nice greetings cards! I’ve quite a collection in a box and as well as this, I can never bring myself to throw away any that I receive! I love the Owl card.
BTW I’m in South Devon and it’s very warm..,but we’ve a hosepipe ban!

  19. And I'm in Cornwall and enjoying the sunshine but still have that dratted easterly wind until late afternoon. Exhausted with all the buckets of water needed for keeping everything alive - our hosepipe ban goes on and on, until CHRISTMAS, we're warned. Yesterday I sneaked out just before dark with the hosepipe and brush to wash the mess left by local seagulls all down my newly painted white bungalow. Mucky beggars!

  20. Nice cards you found for less money. I was going to get one for my brother in law at Safeway on Friday but didn't have to time do it. My daughter and I were in there for 2 hours and then she got gas before we came home. It is a bit warm here but we have air conditioner on so it makes me cold as I am having health/allergy issues since last week. My daughter has been watering the plants outdoors lately. We watched "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris" movie this afternoon. I am sure it was done in England and it was good to watch. Have a good week!
