Saturday again

I believe some parts of the country have had sunshine and a wee bit of warmth this week, but here we've had freezing strong North East winds and lots of grey-ness with low cloud, drizzle and rain and just a few minutes of sunshine..............  It can only get better......unless it get worse!

When the kitchen man finished and left for the last time I thought it would be the end of workmen for a while but then found a tiny puddle in the bathroom behind the new wash basin. I thought it was easily solvable if one of the fittings was a bit loose but no, the water seemed to be appearing from under the wall..... an outside wall,  behind the sink. I kept mopping it up and it kept re-appearing, not all the time but now and again. Also faulty was the bath panel on the new bath...........it just kept falling off. A man came and the panel has now been fixed properly but of course there was no sign of the small puddle. What ever taps he ran - no trickle of water..........How typical!

It's been weeks since I found anything to buy when I'm at the charity shop but some little boys new M&S pants came in while I was there this week and Jacob loves cars and especially the Cars that are the Disney Pixel Cars, maybe these will help with the toilet training. I'll send them down to Surrey.

Thursday was exciting, because I met up with Rachel who writes her blog from not far away from me but in Norfolk. We met in Morrisons cafe in Diss which is about halfway between us as I needed to go to the Grape Tree for some dried fruit. It was good to have an hour with another blogger. I'm sure we'll meet up again.

I went to see youngest daughter and Florence on Friday, we went for a walk round the charity shops, found a Peppa Pig book for Florence and by chance another book I'll mention next week.

Son and DIL + Willow are popping over today. Poor DIL goes back to work after her maternity leave on Monday.......she's not looking forward to it.

That's good, another week of winter  survived. Each week takes me closer to Spring.

Back Monday
Sue

  2. Enjoy your family's visit. I wish I had my granddaughters close enough for a visit.. but they are 3,000 miles away and I only get to see them once a year. Very sad. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  3. I've got a bathroom puddle too so you have my sympathy. It is around the loo pedestal so I thought I had a leaky loo but it turns out to be condensation.

  4. I'm looking forward to th longer brighter days. We've had a few outbreaks of sunshine but like you it's been grey and cold.

  5. I hate this time of year; feels like we're sitting in limbo waiting for the horrible winter weather to arrive, dark when you get up and dark when you go to bed... even the cats seem to be mooching around at the moment!

  6. An unexplained puddle is a worry, isn't it? Maybe yours is just One Of Those Things.
I gether we are due for a cold spell - not too long, hopefully! It's been chilly here too.

  7. It is nice to meet a fellow blogger - you feel like you have known them for ages. Both my daughters are on maternity leave now and it is going to be tough for them when they return although I have a feeling they may not and opt to try and get by on one wage until they are old enough for a part time nursery place.

  8. on the little leak front we have a tiny puddle appears in the wetroom in a winter it comes from condensation off the cold water pipe that comes in from outside behing the sink , took weeks to figure out where it was coming from as it only happened on cold days

    1. I think you have solved my mystery - in the wall is the pipe that goes to the outside tap. I turned the stopcock that shuts off the water to the outside tap last week and no more mini puddles. I shall await colder weather and see what happens.

    2. I was just about to make the same comment! I was thinking pipe on the outside wall / cold weather / condensation. Keep an eye on it during this next cold snap.

  10. LOL, thought it was just me that once 21 December was over was thinking to myself 'that's it, Spring is almost here!' Hate this time of year, I have such low energy levels.

  12. Its that time of year for unexplained leaks/puddles of water. We keep getting an odd puddle in the porch but can't work out where it is coming from. Hope you manage to work out your puddle issues.

  13. It's always nice to meet up with fellow bloggers isn't it, nice that you met up with Rachel, I didn't realise you lived that close to each other :-)

I called to Johns just after Christmas, and as well as it being a blogger meet up it was a doggy meet up. Luckily, as we suspected they might, they all got on like a house on fire.

    1. Have you not connected that Norfolk and Suffolk are neighbouring counties?

      Delete
    2. Yeh but south Suffolk to North Norfolk would be 100 miles!

    3. My blog, if you are a reader, frequently mentions that I live in South Norfolk and I often talk about Diss and Sue often refers to her locality.

    4. Haha ... bugger off, my geography is bloody terrible :-)

  15. I went out with a boy from "'twixt Attleborough and Diss" for three years. I know the area well. I'm glad you enjoyed your meeting.

  16. Meeting fellow bloggers is a brilliant by product of our little world!

  17. I can identify with that last sentence Sue.

  18. Your last sentence says it all! We did get out today but very gloomy and there were icicles galore on the lighthouse. Skyped with my Mum who said it had been chilly and gloomy. We were talking of holidays so I definitely can't wait until Spring or Summer!

  19. Hopefully spring will be here before we know it. We got more snow overnight and this morning. I sure hope next week is clear and sunny for my appointments.

    God bless.
